Project type
College Theatre
West Liberty University Theatre
December 2022
Invited Performance at KCACTF Region 2 in January 2023
The idea behind this show was that everything was made from items you would find in a theatre. This required some creativity but also some luck. Theatres have lots of strange items that are stored for use as props. But for the amulets, that proved quite tricky, because the story mentions that they are supposed to glow with starstuff. To do so I filled a glass amulet with various reflective beads and glitter and used a thumb sized flashlight that the actors kept in their pockets and used to discretely light the amulets. The hand was made from an amputated mannequin. Unfortunately I no longer have a photo of the pineapple I made from foam and green and yellow lighting gels. It had magnets in the center so it could break in half when it was throw to the ground. Rope used for the show was sometimes real rope, and sometimes extension cords.
