This set was so much fun to put together. Designed by Lynne Porter, the set focused on words and how they make up everything. This highlighted one of the plays main messages: words are powerful. Everything was cut from 1/4" Masonite that we had in stock. The guillotine was reinforced with 2x4's we had in stock to avoid buying any wood. Since there were so many words on the set, to save time Lynne and I decided to use magic markers instead of paint. I organized volunteer called to help, especially with the stage floor. Guillotine Blades were also hung from our catwalk above the house right and house left sections using airline cable, chains, and d-rings. To test the placement of the blades, especially since it blocked part of the stage from the booth, I cut them out of cardboard first and hung them using tie-line.
